Joel 2:28,29 and Acts 2:16-18

Joel 2:28,29

28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

Acts 2:16-18 NIV

16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
    and they will prophesy.

So, what the Holy Spirit is defining here in Joel and Acts is that He will make no distinction between men and women, sons and daughters and all people. God who is no respecter of persons when He pours out His Holy Spirit how can man? For it is God who appoints. It is God who justifies. It is God who authorizes the Holy Scriptures and empowers His saints to do His will. If God calls, who are we to dictate to God:  ‘Whom we will ordain, will allow, will appoint when it is God’s sanctioning the individuals!’ Or as Gamaliel said ‘you will only find yourself fighting against God’. Since it’s origination is by the Holy Spirit and in the Old Testament, thus Peter using the same Scriptures to define what happened that day:  Pentecost! Peter did so through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to define the actions of that day.

So, do we just say, “Sorry Peter, but we don’t accept your speaking in the book of Acts was done by the Holy Spirit.” Thus they do so to deny woman their calling by God into the ministry of preaching, teaching and doing the work, that they declare only men can do. The Holy Spirit states three times, in ‘on all people’, ‘sons and daughters’ and ‘both men and women’. How many times does the LORD God Almighty have to say a thing before men will accept it?

Women and daughters you are called of God you are poured out upon drenched with the Holy Spirit to do the work into which God has called you to do in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit – so I tell you ‘women’ if you let men dictate to you, your calling, you are being more disobedient against the Holy Spirit than the men who refuse you! So come out among them; know that you by your example others will see your good works through the Holy Spirit and rejoice with you!

The squirrel is back.

I know it has been aeon and aeon since my last post. I have in part to thank knee surgery which put out for almost 2 months, and other activities – ok now that we are done with pitiful excuses we will put that which happens from behind us to behind us an charge headlong over a cliff.

So here we go again and again and… hopefully I didn’t discourage any one as if to a rumor that I had poofed or raptured or was shipwrecked on some deserted island where I hear rerun music in the distance.

So with no more chatter from the squirrel with nut we will run along …

The “Fear of the LORD’ is the beginning of wisdom. Part 2

It is an amazing understanding that when the General Church, waters down the holiness of God also waters down in the same measure the love of God and the grace of God. For when we side step this main attribute of God, the only one that is described as ‘holy-holy-holy’ or known as trihagion. Salvation changes. We see the grace of God cheapened, and though it is by faith and grace we are saved and this not of ourselves it is a gift from God. This gift, is valued less, it becomes like a well worn old shirt, good for every day activities but not something you would always wear. It is one that you don’t truly respect. It does not become first place in your life. It is a faith that becomes like a trophy in the den, a painting on the wall or something that is an addition for fire insurance.

As we continue to devalue holiness, we find that the world infiltrates the General Church. False doctrines are accepted and the lines of religion becomes blurred. It becomes second class salvation, something that is OK but let’s not accept all the bible thumping and crying over sins that was heard several generations ago, and now happens very little if not at all. We don’t really get excited about going to Church, we go on Sunday but if something else is more important, the Church loses out. After Church it is the Football game or whatever game is going on, or it is something we accept but not that center stage. As the General Church loses the doctrine of the fear of the LORD the world has infiltrated and made strong inroads into the Church. The Church and the world are more on friendly terms than great enemies. One cannot be seen as different than the other. Mostly Christians are seen not heard. Churches have all the latest equipment to spread the gospel. Large screens, huge sound systems and even a coffee shop or two inside the front lobby.

As the doctrine of the Fear of the LORD becomes a bygone sermon, the world sees the General Church as a cheap imitation of what it used to be like. The Church is no longer feared no longer a threat to worldly ways. In fact most of its policies looks like where do go to eat after Church, most Churches are renovated or sold to make money. If they are big large churches they resemble modern theaters and give the world a run for the money in entertainment.

Holiness, can never be down played in the General Church. It will kill it faster than a false doctrine will. Without holiness no one will see the LORD, for in this eyesight keeps the faith pure, the love of God with fervency, and Christ center stage. It will bring in the eternal truths of God, the faith of the saints, the faith of our fathers living still, where God is felt where His Presence lives, there will always be – ‘The fear of the LORD’.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His instructions have good insight. His praise endures forever.

Source of quotes:  http://biblehub.com/psalms/111-10.htm

When we look at the ‘fear of the LORD’ is more than just ‘reverential awe’, it is has to deal with God’s ‘other-ness’ His, unknowable attribute, and truly we must see it as fear dread for the LORD God Almighty His presence is terrible to behold for no man can see His face and live. God has such personification about Himself that man cannot fathom ever, and to this we will fear this God, not just because He can snuff out our life like a flickering candle’s glowing fire, but that to stand in His Presence is to truly worship God in every way that we can, and more besides eternally worship. God brings fear, not just to His enemies but also to those who love Him and have called upon Him for the forgiveness of sins and salvation. To lose this ‘fear of God’ is to lose a vital aspect of our love for Him, our worship of Him, our joy in Him and our being saved by Him. Thus, what are we to truly say about this fear of God is to know God is a being altogether unknowable and without His own divine revelation of Himself we could never ever hope to find Him; for He is hidden beyond all created hosts to penetrate that glory cloud and know the one for whom it enshrines as a Living Glory Cloud for which houses the Living God. As we need to truly come back to our understanding as men and women of olden days used to speak of such dread of this God that they literally quaked, they literally tried to drill themselves into the floor, and as evil men so begged the very earth to cover them to hide them from the face of this Awesome God. The meaning was to literally send us alive into the grave to hide us from the One Who Sits on the Throne!

This great ‘fear of the LORD’ declares to all people that whatever we may find a description of in the Word of God this ‘fear’ must be primary, from beginning to end to show that we can never ever lose the sight of such fear and august dread. To not have such an understanding, is to make God Almighty something He is not, and we have lost truly our very acts of ministry and acts of mercy, and justice, we lose all things pertaining to our worship, for the fear of God is to truly the beginning of understanding, for in Him we move and have our being. For this we know God’s mercy the depths and heights of His love, the width and breadth of His grace, for fear says truly:  He is the LORD! He is the LORD!

Our eternity defines for us this fear. For we know for whom our salvation is invested in is the same yesterday today and forever and we know that when we do stand on that great Hallowed shore, and we see for the first time but ever seeing fuller as eternity rolls along. we see Holy Fear and we see the Face of God and this Holy August Fear shows us truly God is God! The Holy Fear is to know God is Holy Holy Holy the whole earth is filled with His glory. We see whom the angels have never seen, we see Whom Who Died for our salvation in such waves of glory waves of Holiness, wave of Fear showing for us we have nothing to fear but Him who is the author and finisher of our faith.

Poem on John 17 – Title “Heaven’s Heart”

77. Heaven’s Heart

John Chapter 17

Jesus looked with His Spirit, from where He came

Heavens heart, the only begotten Name

Into the heart of the Father, where He was before

The heart, the place of His love was Heaven’s door

He cried in Spirit, He spoke in heavenly tones

“Father for this reason, this season to atone

As You sent Me, I have come to do, and fulfill

All that You have spoken, by Your will

Abba Father, I have given them this love

Shown them the same. of what You are above

And now I am coming to You, My joy in heaven

These ones. by Your own hand, so chosen

I know that these that have been by My side

Are Yours, for they have with Me, abide

Now Holy Father let Your Name, My Name

Be on them, so Your love, shelters them the same

For My Heavenly Father, I am coming to You now

One was lost for he loved the world, twas how

But I want the world to know, these are Mine

For them, let Your Face in them, be theirs to shine

Let Your power. be over them, to let the world know

You, O’ Abba Father, have loved them so

As You have loved Me, let that love be unfurled

For they believed, that You sent me, into this world

Holy Father, I know You, and they know You know me

For I have shown them, Your word truly – truly

Abba Father, they no longer walk by the light of this world

They walk with Me, in Spirit and in truth, faithfully Lord

Keep them, watch over them, so that all may see

That You walk with them, talk with them, as You do Me

May Ours be theirs, this oneness, We share

Father, truly Our love, Our joy, let them so wear

As one does, so let them all do, as one

To show in Us, Our complete sanctification

Holy Father, I know You love them, like Me

Let that love be, as We are, in them, for the world to see

To let them know, they will one day be

My testimony, of My glory, You gave to Me

To be With Me, as I am with You – forever

To never leave – no, not ever.”

Step Three: Outlines

STEP THREE:

Analyze and outline in one’s own words.[1]  Do at least two full length sermon outlines to accompany the regular outline. Present in outline form the following:

  1. Major Divisions
  2. Subdivision
  3. Titles and names to each section
  4. The part of Scripture (verse, verses, or portion or verse) for each outline.[2]

Sudivisions:

  1. Jesus preparation to pray.

After JESUS said this, He looked toward heaven and prayed:

  1. Jesus’ declaration of the reason for this prayer –

“(Abba) FATHER, the time has come. Glorify YOUR SON, that YOUR SON may glorify YOU.

  1. Jesus’ defining his declaration of his authority to give eternal life

For YOU granted HIM authority over all people that HE might give Eternal-Life to all those YOU-have-given-HIM. Now this; is Eternal-Life:  that they-may-know-You – the ONLY-TRUE-GOD, and JESUS-CHRIST:  Whom-YOU-Have-Sent.

  1. Jesus’ declaration from where His glory is from.

I have brought YOU Glory-on-earth; by-completing-the-work-YOU-gave-ME-to-do.

  1. Jesus’ declaration to be glorified now.

And now; FATHER, glorify-ME-IN-YOUR-PRESENCE with the Glory-I-had-with-YOU before the world began.”

  1. Jesus’ declaration of His revelation to the disciples

“I have revealed YOU to those whom YOU-gave-ME out-of the world.

  1. Jesus’ declaration the disciples are the Father’s

They were YOURS; YOU-gave-them to ME, and they have obeyed YOUR Word.

  1. Jesus’ declaration of fulfilling the Father’s words to them

Now they know that everything YOU-have-given-ME comes from YOU. For I gave them the words YOU gave ME and they accepted them.

  1. Jesus’ declaration of the disciples knowing He was the ‘Sent One’.

They knew with certainty that I-came-from-YOU, and they believed that YOU-sent-ME.

  1. Jesus’ declaration of He and the Father’s unity.

I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those YOU have given ME, for they are YOURS. All-I-have-is-YOURS,-and-all-YOU-have-is-MINE.  And Glory has come to ME through them.

  1. Jesus’ declaration of the disciple’s unity through His Name.

I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I-am-coming-to-YOU, – HOLYFATHER, – protect them:  by the-POWER-of-YOUR-NAME – the NAME-YOU-gave-ME; so that, they-may-be-one-as-WE-are-one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept-them-safe by that NAME-YOU-gave-Me. None has been lost:  except; the-one-doomed-to-destruction, so that Scripture would be fulfilled.”

  1. Jesus’ declaration of His fullest Joy.

“I am coming to YOU now, but I say these things; while I AM still in the world, so that they may have the full-measure of MY-Joy within them: I have given them YOUR-WORD and the world has hated them; for they are not of the world, any more than I AM of the world.

  1. Jesus’ declaration that His disciples would be protected.

My prayer; is not that YOU take them out of the world, but that YOU protect them from the evil-one:

  1. Jesus’ declaration that the disciples sanctification is by the Word.

They are not of-the-world even as I-AM-not-of-it:  Sanctify-them by the Truth:  YOUR-WORD-IS-TRUTH.

  1. Jesus’ declaration of the disciple’s complete sanctification.

As You-sent-Me into the world, I-have-sent-them into the world:  For-them; I-sanctify-MYSELF:  that they-too-may-be – truly-sanctified.”

  1. Jesus’ declaration of all disciples to tabernacle in the Trinity.

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in-Me through their message; that all of them may-be-one, FATHER. Just as YOU-are-in-Me-and-I-am-in-YOU:  May they also (tabernacle) be in-US:  so that the world may believe, that YOU-have-sent-ME.

  1. Jesus’ declaration of all disciples to have complete unity in the Trinity.

I have given them the-Glory-that-YOU-gave-ME:  that they may-be-one-as-WE-are-one; I-in-them and YOU-in-ME. May they be brought to complete-unity:  to let the world know; that YOU-sent-ME, and (YOU HOLY FATHER) have loved-them-even-as-YOU-have-loved-ME (YOUR ONLY BEGOTTEN SON).”

  1. Jesus’ declaration of all disciples to be in glory to see His glory.

“FATHER, I want those YOU-have-given-ME to be with-ME where-I-am, and to see MY-Glory, the Glory YOU-have-given-ME because YOU loved ME before the creation of the world.”

  1. Jesus’ declaration of all disciples to have intimacy with The Father by their tabernacle with Them.

“RIGHTEOUS-FATHER, though the world does-not know YOU, I-(intimately)-know-YOU, and they know that YOU-have-sent-ME. I-have-made-YOU-(intimately)-known to them, and will continue to make YOU (intimately) known in order that the LOVE-YOU-HAVE-FOR-ME:  may be (tabernacled) in-them; and that, I-MYSELF-may-be-(tabernacled)-in-them.”
